|what is the best minidv videocamera out there?
Please discuss. I read the specs but I'm too sleep deprived to understand. I can't focus. I want a videocamera that uses minidvs and that can do well in low light. Bluetooth a big plus.
Anyone up on this?

dianala wants to punch a wall, for reasons to banal to go into here. Instead, what should she do?
eat a pint of premium ice cream
scream at someone on a mud or bbs under an assumed name
take boxing lessons, or something involving punching
call the $3.99 a minute complaint line
oh, go ahead, punch a wall already

Folklife Festival is next weekend. Should I take a 17mo?
What, are you mad? Wait till next year.
Maybe, but it hardly seems worth fighting the traffic for the 30minutes-1 hour he's likely to have fun
He'll probably just get scared by all the people
Definitely! Why would you let him miss it?
Bring him, but make sure you're not around me when he has a meltdown

|Attention Photoshop Weenies
So I bought these DIY photo tumblers at Starbucks.
They have a website with premade inserts: http://www.starbucks.com/tumblerart
But what I want to do is stick my digital pictures in the right shape and THEN print it, rather than printing and cutting and pasting manually w/glue, etc.
Is there some really easy way to take one of these PDFs and just get a transparent layer of an OUTLINE of the shape in black? Say, as a 4pt line or something?
I think I used to know how to do this BBE (Before Baby ERA) and the ensuing sleep deprivation.
If you feel like doing it for me, you'll be my hero forever.

Oh, yeah, in case you're wondering why the kid's nose is all banged up, he fell at the Aquarium on Saturday. On carpet even.
|Now I just need to teach him to say "braaaains"
So we have this home CPR learning/review kit that includes an infant and an adult/child mannequin. Phil was trying to watch the video and do the procedure on the adult/child dummy, but Joseph gets very mad that he can't have the "baby".
Finally, I just took the head off of the infant dummy and let him hold it "for a minute", which turned out to basically be for the rest of the day, including through dinner when he tried to feed his "baby". Also I put the head on a plate for a while and this was screamingly funny to me in the way that things only are to the truly, deeply sleep-deprived.
What else? Oh yes, my little ham now says "CHEESE!" when you take his picture.( When toddlers and CPR mannequins collide...Collapse ) Current Mood: exhausted

|ISO cheap monitor
I have a really sweet woman who's a student at the UW that helps me out a couple times a week around the house.
She comes from a really poor family and has no computer, a necessity these days for college. So, we gave her an old computer of ours, but we have no extra monitor. Well, actually, we have a 21" monitor, but it won't fit on her desk.
If anyone has a 15" or 17" spare monitor that they'd be willing to give up for free or cheap, it's a good cause, as she's pre-med, and may be Rxing your drugs in the future. We'd be willing to trade the 21"er also.
